Dr. Euan Thomson has gathered more than 30 years of experience in healthcare spanning CEO of both private and public companies, venture capital, research, management, and medical device innovation. Having trained as medical physicist, Euan spent fifteen years in research, teaching, clinical practice, and administration within the UK healthcare system, before forming a successful international consultancy practice, advising companies and hospitals on scientific development, product marketing, and management. As President and CEO of Accuray Inc, Euan managed the disruptive, clinical expansion of Radiosurgery through the creation of protocols and studies for treatment of tumours in the brain, spine, lung, liver, pancreas, prostate and breast. Under Euan’s leadership, Accuray’s intellectual property portfolio grew from five issued U.S. patents to c.300 issued U.S. and foreign patents, and the revenue grew from less than $10 million to more than $400 million, guiding Accuray through its highly successful IPO in 2007. At Khosla Ventures, Euan built digital health and analytics strategies for the healthcare portfolio. Euan also worked as Interim CEO of AliveCor (2013-2015), establishing their corporate strategy, creating patient driven data flow resulting in FDA cleared algorithms, and as Interim CEO of Quanttus, establishing strategy for continuous blood pressure measurement. At Samsung, he built and managed a team focused on advanced wearables and an IoT platform to capture lifestyle and nutrition. Euan is currently President of Ophthalmic Devices and Head of Digital Business Unit, Carl Zeiss Meditec Inc.

Euan was previously Chairman of the Board of Hospice of the Valley, a non-profit organisation providing hospice care, palliative care and grief counselling, and Chairman of the Board of the California Division of the American Cancer Society’s CEO’s Against Cancer. Euan is the recipient of Ernst and Young’s Entrepreneur of the Year (N. California Health and Life Sciences).
