Skills and experience

After 2 years as Director of Medical Physics, Jonathan was appointed as Chief Clinical Officer in April 2019.

Jonathan Farr received his PhD degree from Wayne State University in 2003 and completed his Habilitation (an advanced post-graduate qualification subsequent to a doctorate) in novel radiation oncology techniques at the Universitätsklinikum Essen-Duisburg, Germany in 2012. He has contributed to the development, characterisation and application of numerous particle therapy systems. Dr. Farr has served as chief of medical physics at the Westdeutsches Protonentherapiezentrum, Essen, Germany, and at the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, USA. He is board certified by the American Board of Radiology in Therapeutic Physics, has published over 45 papers in peer-reviewed journals and presented over 130 abstracts at scientific conferences.

Role / Responsibilities

He is responsible for the clinical application of the LIGHT system, through product and service definition and patient safety, and for research into its ongoing development from a medical physics perspective.
